Forms of Reglan
Reglan Drug Injury
There are a variety of forms of Reglan® available, including a clear, colorless liquid solution for injection into a vein or muscle; oral concentrated syrup; and oral tablets. The drug is commonly identified as Metoclopramide Oral Solution; Reglan Injection; Reglan Oral Disintegrating Tablets; and Reglan Tablets.
Each form of Reglan is administered in different doses. The dose in milliliters (mL) and milligrams (mg) indicates the amount of active ingredient metoclopramide in each form of Reglan. Doses for each form of Reglan are:
- liquid injection: 5 mg in 2-, 10-, or 30-mL single-dose vials
- oral concentrated syrup: 125 mL and 250 mL
- oral tablets: 5 mg and 10 mg
Reglan 5 mg oral pills are green, elliptical-shaped tablets engraved with “REGLAN 5” on one side and “SP” on the opposite side. Each pill contains 5 mg of metoclopramide. The drug’s 10 mg oral pills are white, scored, capsule-shaped tablets engraved with “REGLAN” on one side and “SP 10” on the opposite side. Each pill contains 10 mg of metoclopramide. Improper prescription can result in a Reglan drug injury.
